I VIGNETI

IL SEGRETO DI TUTTO

We are in an area where the influence of the sea, its winds and salt water play a large part in the growth and maturation of the grapes and their transformation into wine.
The high temperature variations between day and night, the protection against the hot southern winds, the clayey soils with calcareous and sandy components and a microclimate mitigated by sea breezes make these places the ideal habitat for growing luxuriant and healthy grapes with minimal interventions in the vineyard.
Our vineyards feature the main Sardinian vines such as Cannonau di Sardegna, Vermentino di Sardegna, Cagnulari and Moscato di Sorso from which we produce single varietal wines, DOC wines and IGT Romangia wines.

The vineyards are espalier trained with Guyot or spurred cordon pruning. The harvest takes place manually, from August/September to October of each year, with the grapes collected in small boxes which are then processed in the nearby winery within a few hours.
This allows us to respect the raw ingredient, which arrives intact and fresh for vinification to be processed with the most modern technologies available.

SOIL

The soils of our vineyards are mostly clayey with chalky and sandy components.

CLIMATE

The climate is mild and tempered by the currents coming from the sea, with winters that are not too harsh and very hot summers.

GRAPE VARIETIES

In our vineyards, Vermentino represents the lion’s share but room is also given to Cannonau, Cagnulari and Moscato di Sorso.

WINES

Production currently stands at around 80,000 bottles divided into 8 different references, including DOC and IGT labels.

IL CRU DI MARRITZA

One of our most important vineyards is that located in Marritza, in the Sorso area. Here the richness of the land is enhanced by the saltiness of the sea and the caress of the mild climate.
This particular vineyard is located at sea level, about 200 metres from the shoreline and rests on the sandy-clayey soil on which the Cannonau vines grow. Here the grapes are covered with a coating of salt from the sea, which favours sensorial enrichment and maturation. The wines obtained from these grapes are characterised by a taste-olfactory profile with a great mineral quality, tanginess and elegance that makes them unique and unusual.
